The Los Angeles Chargers always seem to find a way to lose games in a dispiriting fashion and it happened again on Monday Night Football when they lost to the Dallas Cowboys.
The Chargers were in a position to win the game as they had the ball with less than two minutes to go in the fourth quarter, but facing heavy pressure Justin Herbert made an ill-advised throw that was picked off.
Dallas would escape with the win and leave Los Angeles to answer more questions about the direction of their season.
Even with so much high-level talent on both sides of the ball, the Chargers continue to underwhelm and look like they could very well miss the postseason.
Brandon Staley has seen his name dragged online as a likely candidate to get fired and it’s hard to argue given the results.
John Middlekauff blasted Staley and believes that Dean Spanos has no choice but to fire him via The Volume.
“Anyone who supports this constant failure makes me sick,” Middlekauff said.

Middlekauff’s main argument is that Staley likes to go for it on fourth downs despite his poor results.
He also argues that while the analytics and numbers might support such decisions, at the end of the day the NFL is a results-driven business.
Staley’s days in Los Angeles do feel numbered unless he can get the roster to perform from this point forward.
With immense pressure to win and a quarterback like Herbert, Staley’s got no choice but to show that he’s worthy of being the person to lead the team.
