The Miami Dolphins have officially put the league on notice.
They are 5-1 through their first six games and are tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the top spot in the AFC.
The Dolphins have gotten themselves into this position largely due to their offense, which averages 37.2 points per game.
While there have been many contributing factors to this offense, Tua Tagovailoa has gotten a lot of the credit.
Raheem Mostert, the Dolphins running back, recently took to the Pat McAfee Show to describe Tagovailoa’s impact.
“Tua has always had the leadership mentality and I could tell last year that he was gonna be a great leader,” Mostert said.

He holds himself to a high standard and that’s what you need in a Quarterback” @RMos_8Ball #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/r2RWdQbsJJ

Tagovailoa started the 2022 season similarly to his 2023 campaign, but injuries kept him away from the field.
While he was sidelined, his teammates continued to shout his praise, echoing Mostert’s statements on McAfee’s show.
Having a great leader on a football team, especially at the quarterback position, is imperative for teams to succeed.
Tagovailoa has personified that this season and his teammates fight hard each week with him as their leader.
His off-field impact has translated into tangible results, as his relationship with his teammates is put on full display every week.
With Tagovailoa as their leader, this team has put together a formula that has allowed them to be 5-1.
Can they stay healthy enough for a full season to see how it translates to the postseason?
