The Denver Broncos have a renowned quarterback room.
They traded for Zach Wilson and drafted Bo Nix to join Jarrett Stidham in Mile High, and the competition was on.
They didn’t seem to be quite high on Stidham; otherwise, they would’ve used that first-round selection on a different player.
And while there were some positive reports about Wilson, it doesn’t seem like he’s going to get the nod to start Week 1.
According to a report by Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk, Nix is currently the odds-on favorite to be the starter.

This isn’t that much of a surprise.
Nix spent five years in college, working on his game and polishing it, so he’s more experienced than the average rookie.
On top of that, Sean Payton and his staff were reportedly very high on him through the entire draft process, up to the point where they even didn’t want to leak their actual interest in getting him.
Nix is very athletic and while he was fairly inconsistent during his college days, the physical traits are most definitely there.
The Broncos still aren’t expected to compete at the highest level next season.
They parted ways with most of their veteran stars, and they will continue to deal with the Russell Wilson ripple effect for at least another season, as they had to absorb plenty of dead money.
That’s why they might as well give their first-round quarterback every opportunity to develop his game next season, as they aren’t expected to be a playoff team anyway.
