The New York Mets were one of the most disappointing teams in MLB this season.
They entered the year coming off a 101-win campaign and proceeded to fall flat on their face.
Many of the moves they made in the offseason did not pan out.
But, they still have a few players who played well and remained consistent.
One of them is shortstop Francisco Lindor.
He had the first 30/30 season of his career this year.
Also, he continued to play stout defense.
According to SNY Mets, Lindor has been named a 2023 Gold Glove finalist.

Lindor is a two-time Gold Glove winner and has brought home a Platinum Glove as well.
But, he last won the Gold Glove in 2019 with the Cleveland Guardians.
He has yet to win the award in the National League.
According to Fielding Bible, Lindor is fifth amongst NL shortstops in defensive runs saved with seven.
Also, he is tenth in the NL in Outs Above Average according to Statcast.
Lindor has done a great job of holding down one of the toughest positions in sports.
Playing shortstop is not easy, and it is especially difficult doing it in New York.
The pressure is elevated in that city because winning is always the expectation.
You can blame a lot of different people for the Mets’ failure this year.
But, Lindor is not someone who should shoulder a lot of it.
Lindor is a finalist for the Gold Glove with Dansby Swanson and Ezequiel Tovar.
All three are deserving of the honor and it will be interesting to see who wins it.
