After getting the best of the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 and convincing many that they are the best all-around team in the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers came back down to Earth in Week 6, as they were unable to beat the Cleveland Browns, who didn’t even have star quarterback Deshaun Watson under center.
The loss to the Browns was shocking, to say the least, as the 49ers were expected to make easy work of the shorthanded Cleveland squad while improving their record to 6-0, which would’ve meant they were the last undefeated team in the NFL.
Unfortunately, injuries took their toll in Week 6, with 49ers stars Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey going down, as well as offensive tackle Trent Williams.
Losing these three players was enough to leave the team’s offense in shambles and quarterback Brock Purdy running for his life against a very good Browns defense.
On Wednesday, Samuel made an appearance on “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams and talked about his status moving forward.

Samuel admits that he suffered the shoulder injury on basically the first play of the game against the Browns and that the injury is still very sore, resulting in him having a day-to-day status moving forward.
Fortunately, the 49ers don’t play again until Monday, so Samuel will get an extra day of rest before his status gets determined for Week 7 on the road against the Minnesota Vikings.
As for McCaffrey, he’s dealing with an oblique injury and is essentially in the same situation as Samuel for Monday’s game.
