The Denver Broncos aren’t expected to be very good next season, and maybe not even the next one.
Nonetheless, there’s a big difference between having a successful season and being a winning team, as they’re not always related.
For the Broncos, a successful season will be one that shows they’ve finally found their franchise quarterback and developed him accordingly.
If that also comes with some success on the field, so be it.
With that in mind, they’re more than likely to roll with Bo Nix at quarterback, as Sean Payton and his coaching staff were reportedly very high on him leading to the NFL Draft.
Notably, even despite all the mixed reviews about him throughout his long career in college, it seems like he also had plenty of fans in other programs.
In a recent interview, Utah coach Kyle Whittingham raved about Nix, his leadership skills, and how he has that ‘alpha dog’ mentality (Via Zac Stevens):
“He is an alpha dog,” Whittingham stated. “I don’t know him personally, but you can just see it on the field. He exudes leadership. You can tell that he has great command of the whole offense. He is the focal point, all of the players rally around him.”

Nix’s athleticism or physical traits have never been an issue.
His decision-making, however, often left something to be desired, as he had a tendency to force things or extend plays.
Some doubted he would be good as a first-round pick, while others — like the Broncos — saw plenty of upside in him.
Still, of all quarterbacks entering the league this season, he might be the most NFL-ready, given all the experience he has under his belt already.
Only time will tell but for now, they may have found their guy already.
