The Philadelphia Eagles are hungrier than they’ve ever been, and they have all the tools to put the rest of the league on notice.
Notably, their biggest acquisition came to their running back corps.
Signing Saquon Barkley could be the kind of move that could bring this team back to the mountaintop after a disappointing season.
Barkley was let go by the New York Giants.
A clip of GM Joe Schoen debating Barkley’s value rubbed plenty of people the wrong way.
My favorite quote from episode one of #NYGiants Hard Knocks:
“You’re paying Daniel Jones $40M. It’s not to hand the ball off to a $12M back.”
This is the right mindset from GM Joe Schoen. It’s time to pay attention to positional value and make your QB prove that he’s the guy. pic.twitter.com/Ln9aY5ZCXq

That includes Eagles star AJ Brown, and he made sure to let everybody know that.
The former Tennesse Titans star claimed that he was fed up about the clip and it wasn’t even about him, vowing to do everything he could to help Barkley prove them wrong (via B/R Gridiron).

Barkley had been the best player on the Giants since he entered the league.
He struggled with injuries, but it’s not like they did him any favors with that ever-struggling and decimated offensive line, yet he always found gaps and ways to contribute when he was on the field.
The Eagles didn’t waste a single second to give him the kind of contract he was looking for and deserving of, and that’s despite the running back market being weak over the past couple of years.
Now, he’s going to be a man on a mission, and that could be terrible news for his former team.
