The New York Jets entered the 2023 NFL Season with a new life.
Aaron Rodgers was supposed to bring them to the promised land, breaking the organization’s 12-year playoff drought.
Despite this optimism, Rodgers’ season was over in the blink of an eye given his Week 1 Achilles injury.
So he thought, at least.
In a recent conversation with Melissa Stark of NBC shared via Air Meirov, Rodgers expressed a belief that he will return during the regular season.

This was a surprising mark for all involved, given how detrimental Achilles injuries can be.
Some of the world’s best athletes have torn their Achilles and taken well over a year to get back to their former abilities.
However, with a newfound surgical approach and unconventional healing methods, Rodgers believes he can return to play in 2023.
This would be the quickest turnaround in NFL history for this injury and will be a situation to watch moving forward.
The Jets are currently 1-3, although they narrowly lost to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.
Even if Rodgers is looking at a late-season return, it might be too late.
It has been proven historically difficult to make the playoffs after starting a season with a 1-3 record.
Rodgers might be able to come back, but if the Jets are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs at that point, his efforts could be for naught.
This optimism from Rodgers could light a fire into the Jets’ roster, who could play extra hard knowing that he could be their postseason quarterback.
