The 2023 NFL season was a bit of a disaster for the Cincinnati Bengals, with injuries to key players ripping through the team and ruining any chance of the talented squad competing for a Super Bowl title.
Without superstar quarterback Joe Burrow in the fold for the full season, the Bengals didn’t stand a chance of competing in the AFC and ultimately limped to the finish line with a record of 9-8, which resulted in a last-place finish in the AFC North division.
Heading into the NFL offseason, the Bengals’ main goal was getting their stars healthy and ready for the 2024 campaign while addressing some areas of the roster, like the wide receiver position.
In February, the Bengals placed a franchise tag worth $21.8 million on wide receiver Tee Higgins, which was an interesting move, as some believed the team would trade him in the offseason.
During ESPN’s “NFL Live,” Adam Schefter and Dan Orlovsky got into a heated discussion about Higgins, as they had different opinions about what the future held for the Bengals star receiver, via NFL on ESPN.
“You think a team is randomly gonna pay you if you’re not healthy?” Orlovsky said.

Schefter seems to adamantly believe that Higgins will get paid no matter what happens during the 2024 NFL season, but Orlovsky disagrees, believing health will be the determining factor.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out in Cincinnati and whether Higgins gets what he wants or struggles to get the long-term deal that he desires, either with the Bengals or elsewhere.
