The Texas Rangers did something in the ALCS that not many people thought was possible.
They won all four games in Houston to advance to the World Series.
It is not often that the road team wins every game in a series, but that was the case here.
With their backs against the wall down 3-2 in the ALCS, they showed no panic heading back to Houston.
They dominated both Games 6 and 7 en route to their first World Series appearance since 2011.
One player that carried the Rangers throughout this series was outfielder Adolis Garcia.
He had one of the best postseason series in recent memory on his way to winning the ALCS MVP.
According to Sarah Langs, Garcia became the sixth Cuban-born player to win a postseason MVP award.
Cuban-born postseason MVPs:
2023 ALCS Adolis García
2021 WS Jorge Soler
2021 ALCS Yordan Alvarez
2020 ALCS Randy Arozarena
1999 ALCS Orlando Hernández
1997 NLCS & WS Liván Hernández https://t.co/Hms9i2nJbD— Sarah Langs (@SlangsOnSports) October 24, 2023
He joins a list with Jorge Soler, Yordan Alvarez, and Randy Arozarena.
Garcia did things in this series that we have never seen.
He set the record for most RBI in a playoff series with 15.
Also, he had five home runs during the series.
It seemed like every time he stepped up to the plate, he was ready to do damage.
Not to mention, Garcia also became the first player in MLB history to have an RBI in six straight postseason games.
Garcia has always been known as a free swinger, but that was a major advantage for him against Houston.
His aggressiveness allowed him to hit all those home runs and eventually carry the Rangers to the World Series.
