The New York Jets hope to reverse the misfortune they encountered in the 2023 NFL Season.
The Jets were riding high coming into the year, as they had just traded for Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers was said to be bringing the team to the playoffs for the first time in more than ten years, but his Achilles injury prevented that.
As the Jets prepare for the 2024 season, hoping to enter the year with Rodgers healthy, they are looking for options to build the team around him.
Many have suggested that the Jets are in the market for at least one veteran receiver, which Rich Cimini agrees with in his recent ESPN article.
Cimini discussed the team’s upcoming meeting with Mike Williams and indicated they could be in the market for another veteran.
“Williams is reportedly visiting this week. Also keep an eye on Beckham, whom they almost signed last year,” Cimini said.
After the Los Angeles Chargers cut Williams, it opened the door for him to join another team.
Whether that is the Jets remains to be seen, but Williams could make sense for them if they are genuinely interested in adding a veteran receiver.
He is coming off an injury of his own, but he played well for the Chargers last season when healthy.
Odell Beckham Jr. could also be an exciting option for this team, a highly-touted receiver in the 2023 offseason.
It will be interesting to see if the Jets add either of these free agents to boost their team or if they will attempt to go younger at the position.
