The New Orleans Saints struggled offensively for most of Thursday night’s clash vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars, failing to make the most of their turnovers.
Still, they had a chance to send the game to overtime after a couple of scoring drives in the fourth quarter.
Christian Kirk had given his team a 31-24 lead, but he left enough time on the clock for Dennis Allen’s team to try and tie the game again.
The Saints were inside the Jaguars’ 10-yard-line four times in the final minute but failed to score.
Notably, TE Foster Moreau dropped a routine catch in the corner of the end zone, and the rest was history.
Moreau was later spotted on the sidelines with his helmet still on, struggling to recover from the mistake he made (via Ari Meirov).
Background for those unaware: Foster Moreau was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma this offseason, and thankfully, three months later, he announced that his cancer is in full remission. https://t.co/pmLeClzssv

That’s why RB Alvin Kamara and WR Juwan Johnson reached out to him and walked him back into their locker room (via Erin Summers).
Foster Moreau was sitting on the bench, postgame helmet still on. Juwan Johnson had his arm around him. Alvin Kamara came up and got Foster, hugged him and walked him to the locker room. Great teammates #Saints pic.twitter.com/sT60bqNVTJ

Moreau was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma this offseason, and while he’s now free of danger, it’s obviously been an emotional couple of months for the former LSU star.
Everyone makes mistakes, it happens, and it’s just a part of the game.
Sometimes, it seems like we forget that football players — and professional athletes as a whole — are human beings and also have feelings, fears, and dreams like the rest of us.
Thankfully, Moreau has some great teammates who have proven that they’ll stand by him no matter what, even if they just lost a game.
