After another disappointing showing in the NFL playoffs which resulted in an early exit due to the Dallas Cowboys underestimating the Green Bay Packers, America’s Team were thought to go back to the drawing board and potentially make some drastic changes.
Unfortunately for Cowboys fans, Dallas hasn’t done much to improve their roster for the 2024 campaign, as the team has mostly stood pat during NFL free agency while also taking it’s time to sign star quarterback Dak Prescott to lucrative long-term contract extension.
Once the 2023 campaign was officially over for the Cowboys, longtime team owner Jerry Jones made it clear that head coach Mike McCarthy would be returning next season and that the team intended to ink Prescott to a contract extension.
Needless to say, fans of the storied NFL franchise weren’t happy about either development, and Craig Carton of FOX Sports believes the 2024 NFL season could go south very quickly with McCarthy being on a very short leash via The Carton Show.
“The Dallas Cowboys’ season could very quickly go south on everybody,” Carton said.

At this point in time, it seems unclear what Jones and the Cowboys front office are doing with the team making no attempts to improve the team moving forward.
Even though the Cowboys are one of the most talented teams in the league on paper with a lot of great players on both sides of the football, Dallas is clearly struggling to contend in the NFL playoffs, which should prompt changes in order to make this team a legitimate title contender.
