Monday night’s matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens includes three possible MVP wins in quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Brock Purdy as well as running back Christian McCaffrey.
Whichever of the three has the better game, coupled with whichever team wins the game, will likely set the bar for who wins the MVP award.
Fox Fox Sports’ Emmanuel Acho, who is an MVP voter, said the decision will come down to whether or not Brock Purdy can beat the Ravens’ top-ranked defense.
Acho believes Purdy is the favorite to take home the award, and a win on Monday over Jackson and the Ravens would further extend Purdy’s lead to a point where he would be the clear-cut winner.
“If Brock Purdy beats the Baltimore Ravens, the MVP award is over,” Acho said. ” … Brock Purdy will surely win [MVP].”

Purdy is playing at an elite level in only his second season and has led the 49ers to the best record in the NFC at 11-4.
His production also ranks first in passing touchdowns, first in yards per completion, second in passing yards, and second in completion percentage.
But Purdy isn’t alone in the race for MVP – Jackson on the Ravens and Purdy’s teammate, Christian McCaffrey, are also real contenders.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen are also among the favorites, though Purdy out-dueled Prescott earlier this year and Allen hasn’t been as consistently good as Purdy this season.
Monday night is only Week 16, but it could decide who wins MVP.
