The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the NFL’s most talented teams over the last few years, and they have won 12 games apiece in each of the last three seasons.
But they have gone home early in the playoffs each time, and this offseason, they have made meager offseason additions while losing some key players.
Meanwhile, the rest of the NFC East has gotten better, particularly the Philadelphia Eagles, who added star running back Saquon Barkley.
Commentators Colin Cowherd and John Middlekauff feel Philly will finish first in the division and that even the Washington Commanders will finish second, causing Dallas to take a big step back, per The Volume.

Although Dallas has brought back running back Ezekiel Elliott, his best years are past him, and both men mentioned quarterback Dak Prescott’s reliance on having a strong running game behind him.
Starting running back Tony Pollard departed, as did offensive tackle Tyron Smith and starting defensive end Dorance Armstrong.
In addition, the team lost defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who is now the Commanders’ head coach.
The Cowboys still have plenty of talent, including wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, pass rusher Micah Parsons, and cornerback DaRon Bland, but they now have a few holes on their roster.
They haven’t reached the NFC Championship Game since the 1995 season, which was also the last time they won the Super Bowl championship.
Equally concerning is Prescott’s contract situation — he is entering the final season of his contract, and some feel that he could perhaps be headed elsewhere after this upcoming season.
