After two forgettable seasons with star quarterback Russell Wilson running the show under center, the Denver Broncos have headed in another direction, as they released the veteran and let him sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers in NFL free agency.
With the Broncos having completely moved on from Wilson, the team seems committed to Jarrett Stidham for the time being, with head coach Sean Payton potentially being content with him being his Week 1 starter.
However, there has been some buzz lately that the Broncos could express interest in bringing in a rookie quarterback, with so many talented players at the position in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.
Unfortunately, the Broncos likely won’t be able to get the best players available at No. 12 overall, but they might be able to get Michael Penix Jr. or Bo Nix at that spot.
There could be a couple of talented quarterbacks available when the Broncos are on the clock on April 25, but Brian Baldinger of NFL Network doesn’t think Payton will go that route, via DNVR Broncos.
“Sean Payton knows exactly what he wants, and it would surprise me if Bo Nix was his guy,” Baldinger said.

It’ll be interesting to see what the Broncos do when the draft rolls around later this month because drafting a quarterback might be in the team’s best interest, considering there’s no telling what they’ll get with Stidham next season and beyond.
With the Broncos wanting to get back on track sooner rather than later, only time will tell what moves will be made and if it is more of a long-term play or something that can impact the team immediately.
