To say that the New York Giants have had a tough season would be a huge understatement.
From whatever perspective you want to look at it, it hasn’t been pretty for Brian Daboll’s team.
Then again, after 12 weeks, there’s still a chance that the G-Men will make it to the playoffs.
And according to NFL analyst Craig Carton, it wouldn’t be that far-fetched to think.
Following their win over the New England Patriots, the Giants are now 4-8 and, ironically, playing their best football of the season despite being down to their third-string quarterback.
“Believe it or not, the New York Giants are still ALIVE. The Giants making the playoffs is now back on the table.”

In the latest edition of “The Carton Show,” he pointed out the fact that they’re going to play two beatable teams in the upcoming couple of weeks, which also happen to be teams ahead of them in the race for the NFC playoffs.
By beating the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints, the Giants would be 6-8 and inching closer to the postseason.
Then, they’d get one game vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, and while the Eagles are obviously far superior, it’s still a divisional game, and anything can happen.
Even assuming they lose to the Eagles and fall to 6-9, they would later have a game with the Los Angeles Rams — another beatable team — followed by a season finale vs. an Eagles team that might have the No. 1 seed locked in by then, meaning they would likely play with backups.
It’s crazy, it’s definitely not going to be pretty, and it would be even funny, but there’s a legitimate chance the Giants will make the playoffs.
