After the conclusion of the NFL’s regular season, it was clear that teams had a lot of work to do.
There were several head coach openings, either for roles that had just opened up or for teams that fired their coach midseason.
While a few jobs have already been clinched, five teams are left without a head coach.
After Bill Belichick moved on from New England, many believed that every team would bring him in for interviews.
To this point, only the Atlanta Falcons have decided to interview him, conducting two interviews with the legendary coach.
Signs do point to Belichick taking the job in Atlanta, but that remains to be seen.
After hearing that Belichick has only received interviews from one team, Craig Carton seemed to take this personally.
He said, “Only one team has brought the greatest of all time in for an interview. That to me is embarrassing. That is insulting to Bill Belichick.”
“I’m baffled. Only one team has brought the greatest of all time in for an interview. That to me is embarrassing. That is insulting to Bill Belichick. If he takes the Atlanta job, the guy is desperate to continue to coach and didn’t want to leave New England.”

Belichick is in second place on the NFL’s all-time win list, only trailing Don Shula.
Shula has 14 more career wins than him, which includes the regular season and playoffs.
If Belichick joins a new team, assuming he is there for a few seasons, he will likely surpass Shula in these rankings.
Regardless of where he finishes his career on this list, Carton believes that Belichick’s history as a coach would serve any team well.
The Falcons could be a good fit, but with the Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders, and Los Angeles Chargers also needing head coaches, it is surprising they haven’t at least tried to interview him.
