The 2023 NFL Season provided a lot of excitement and drama, and it was also host to several players having breakout performances.
Many rookies performed better than anticipated, including Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, who seemingly came out of nowhere.
Nacua might not have been well-known heading into the season, but he ended up becoming a household name by the end of the year.
He now holds the single-season rookie records for receptions and receiving yards, an impressive result considering where he was drafted.
As fans and analysts look toward the 2024 NFL Draft, they are all seemingly trying to find the next Nacua.
They’re hoping to identify a player or two that can provide a similar impact to their team, lighting up the stat sheet in their rookie year.
Jordan Schultz recently highlighted one player, Ja’Lynn Polk from Washington, who has impressed several around the league, including an unnamed personnel director.
This director compared Polk to Nacua, saying, “That’s who I see every time I watch him. The strong hands, body control after the catch,” also saying, “I don’t think Polk gets out of the second round.”
Interesting comp from a personnel director on Washington WR Ja’Lynn Polk: “He’s got so much Puka Nacua to his game. That’s who I see every time I watch him. The strong hands, body control and ability after the catch. … I don’t think Polk gets out of the 2nd-round.” pic.twitter.com/ck8HCDUnGW

Polk hasn’t received significant attention heading into the draft, mainly because his former teammate, Rome Odunze, is seen as a top-ten pick.
Odunze made a name for himself during the team’s run to the national championship, a massive reason why his draft stock shot up so far.
Will Polk be viewed similarly in the public eye, moving him up to the second round as this director indicates?
