The NFL’s MVP race is starting to heat up.
With less than three weeks left in the regular season, players have limited time to showcase their skills and make their final pitch for the award.
The five front-runners are Brock Purdy, Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson, Tyreek Hill, and Christian McCaffrey.
Each player has made a remarkable impact on their teams, putting them in this conversation.
However, after seeing his performances throughout the year, including his Thursday Night Football game, reporter Bridget Condon is ready to add Matthew Stafford to the conversation.
Is it too late to throw Matthew Stafford in MVP convo
— Bridget Condon (@BridgetCondon_) December 22, 2023
After a slow start to the season, Stafford has helped the Rams get back into playoff contention.
This team now holds an 8-7 record and is in the driver’s seat to securing a playoff spot.
As Condon suggests, has he done enough to warrant being in the conversation?
When comparing him to other quarterbacks across the league, Stafford has thrown for the fifth-most yards and is in the top ten for passing touchdowns.
While he might not have the season-long statistics of Purdy, Prescott, or Jackson, Condon still believes Stafford is a similarly impactful player.
With two more weeks to go in the regular season, anything can happen in the NFL.
Fans will be interested to see how the rest of the season plays out and which players will win the league’s most significant awards.
For now, at least for Stafford and the Rams, this team needs to keep playing well to keep themselves on track and in the playoff hunt.
