The Miami Dolphins were one of the NFL’s most promising teams to start the 2023 season.
They did cool off significantly after a hot start, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
While a drop-off of this magnitude might have soured some fans on their quarterback, others are confident that Tua Tagovailoa should be the face of the franchise for the foreseeable future.
Craig Carton is one analyst that is supremely confident about Tagovailoa.
He said, “You have to extend Tua. There are 20 teams in the league right now that would trade their starting quarterback for Tua and they wouldn’t blink twice.”

While the team might have had some shortcomings that led to an early playoff exit, Tagovailoa wasn’t necessarily the team’s biggest problem.
Carton believes the Dolphins should extend him, keeping him around to help lead this team.
The Dolphins do have a lot of great pieces on both sides of the ball, with a good mix of veterans and young players.
This is typically a recipe for success in the NFL, and if the team can find a way to put all of this talent to good use, they might just be able to make a splash in the 2024 season.
Getting past Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East won’t be easy, and the New York Jets should have a healthy Aaron Rodgers on their side next year.
Can the Dolphins get it done next season, and sign Tagovailoa to an extension in the meantime?
