It’s crazy to think that Matthew Stafford might as well still be underrated around NFL circles.
He could be one of the most underrated players in NFL history, mostly due to his past with the Detroit Lions.
But make no mistake, Stafford has always been a stud, as he proved by leading the Los Angeles Rams to a Super Bowl win in his very first season away from Michigan.
Fast forward to today, and people don’t seem to be talking about how great of a season he’s having, mostly because people haven’t talked about the Rams’ impressive season turnaround either.
Notably, that’s not the case with Steve Palazzolo of Pro Football Focus, who recently stated that this could be Stafford’s greatest season ever.

Stafford has flown under the radar this season, but his numbers have actually been quite solid.
Through the first 14 games of the season, the former No. 1 pick has completed 63% of his passes for 3,648 yards to go along with 23 touchdowns against just nine interceptions.
His ability to throw the football down the field has never been put in doubt, and now that Cooper Kupp has gone back to full strength and they’ve found another gem in Puka Nakua, this team could be very dangerous in a one-off situation.
The Rams are now 8-6 and looking to make a late-season push for a spot in the playoffs.
They’ve been there and done that already, and don’t forget that they hoisted the Vince Lombardi trophy just a couple of seasons ago.
