The New England Patriots were fresh off one of the worst losses in the Bill Belichick era, and most people expected them to make a statement with a bounce-back win.
Needless to say, that wasn’t the case at all.
Despite being two-point home favorites, Belichick’s team struggled offensively again, and their so-called elite defense was unable to stop a New Orleans Saints team that had had plenty of issues moving the chains in the first four weeks of the season.
That’s why NFL reporter Andrew Callahan didn’t mince his words on the team, blasting them for their lack of talent at the QB and WR position, their poor pass-protection, their subpar defense, and even their special teams.
The #Patriots have one of the NFL’s worst QBs and WR corps.
They are the NFL’s worst pass-protectors.
Defensively, down their 2 best players, they allowed New Orleans to score its first TD in 20 drives.
Their special teams rank 32nd by DVOA.

The Patriots have a flawed roster in every facet of the game, and that’s on Bill Belichick.
He’s been either unwilling or unable to adapt to modern football, and while Mac Jones has looked far from the promising rookie he once was, he hasn’t been put in a position to succeed either.
Even without Aaron Rodgers, the Patriots are by far the worst team in their division, and they don’t stand a chance to compete with any of the AFC powerhouses.
They’ve scored a grand total of 3 points while allowing 72 over their past two games, with Jones being benched twice over that span.
They sit with a 1-4 record and judging by the way things have gone for them this season, it wouldn’t be shocking if they only won three or four games this year.
