The Baltimore Ravens look scary right now.
GM Eric DeCosta drew plenty of criticism in the offseason for the way he dealt with Lamar Jacskson’s contract and how he seemingly threw some players under the bus.
But, in hindsight, we have to recognize that he’s done pretty much everything well over the past months or so.
At least, that’s how renowned sports analyst Rich Eisen seems to think.
Following their Sunday Night Football win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Eisen praised the organization’s decision-makers for hiring Todd Monken as their offensive coordinator, drafting Zay Flowers, and signing Lamar Jackson to that extension.
The @Ravens have pushed near every button right: from Todd Monken at OC, drafting Flowers, paying @Lj_era8 & even turning down their bye after a London visit they wisely started early that week
They’ve lost only once since & hit their bye NOW as the only 9-win AFC team

Eisen also revealed that the Ravens actually turned down having their Bye week right after their game in London, and they just kept working hard, adding that they’ve only lost one game since playing overseas and that they’re now heading to their Bye week as the only nine-win team in the AFC.
With Joe Burrow out for the season and the Cincinnati Bengals pretty much out of contention, the Ravens look like the best team in the AFC, even ahead of the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs and perennial contenders like the Buffalo Bills.
Their defense has been stout, physical, and disciplined, and their new-look offense has been explosive and dynamic.
Needless to say, they still need to prove themselves in the postseason, but the way they’ve dominated their opposition this season should make the fans feel quite well about themselves as they head to their Bye week.
