The 2023 NFL season was supposed to be the year that the Buffalo Bills proved they belonged in the Super Bowl conversation given the offensive talent on the roster but instead, they’ve struggled to stay above .500.
The Bills have been one of the more disappointing teams this year as they’ve come up short in several games, including some bad losses to teams that they should’ve easily beaten.
The defense is partly to blame for the team’s inability to close out games as the unit has been decimated by injuries and is nowhere near the same.
However, the offense has also come under fire for its lack of cohesion on a weekly basis.
Josh Allen remains a special talent at the quarterback position, but he’s endured plenty of criticism and blame for Buffalo’s uneven season.
Despite that, Mike Greenberg came to Allen’s defense and argued why he shouldn’t be receiving so much flak from the media and fans via ESPN.

Greenberg lists out where Allen ranks historically among quarterbacks for production the past few years, most notably his touchdowns.
Allen is on pace to become the first player in NFL history to score 40 total offensive touchdowns in four consecutive seasons, an impressive feat no matter how someone looks at it.
Most detractors will point to Allen’s turnovers as the reason why he shouldn’t be considered in the same breath as someone like Patrick Mahomes but the stats speak for themselves.
Turning the ball over has been one of Allen’s problems since entering the league, but there’s no denying he more than makes up for it by getting into the end zone so often.
