The Los Angeles Rams weren’t supposed to be this good this season, yet here they are.
They stumbled early in the campaign, and while Puka Nacua was putting up video game-like numbers, they just struggled to win football games.
Now, they’re one of the hottest teams in the league, and Matthew Stafford has turned back the clock to prove that he’s still got plenty left in the tank.
That’s why NFL analyst Steve Palazzolo believes he should be a part of the MVP conversation (via PFF NFL Podcast).

Palazzolo explained that the Rams’ offense has been quite solid despite having a very bad group on paper, pointing out the fact that they did struggle early in the season because of their apparent lack of talent beyond Cooper Kupp, obviously.
Stafford has posted solid numbers, completing 62% of his passes for 3,648 yards and 23 touchdowns against just nine interceptions, leading the Rams to an 8-7 record and an unlikely postseason race.
They’ve won five of their last six games, with their only loss being a heartbreaking one in overtime to the league-leading Baltimore Ravens.
Stafford has thrown for at least two touchdowns in the past five games, and he hasn’t thrown an interception in the last four.
We already knew Sean McVay was one of the best coaches in the game, and he also deserves a lot of credit for this turnaround.
But once again, Stafford continues to prove that he’s one of the best and most overlooked and underrated players of all time.
