There are so many potential-laden quarterbacks in this year’s NFL Draft that there has been talk that at least one team will trade up in order to nab one of them.
One team that has been brought up heavily in those rumors is the Minnesota Vikings, who lost four-time Pro Bowl QB Kirk Cousins in free agency but still have a talented roster, sans a quality signal-caller.
Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune is very confident the Vikings will “do what it takes” to end up with a higher pick, per The Purple Persuasion.

“We’ve talked about it a dozen times by this point, but I still think that’s plan A [in trading up for a top QB]. And I expect that they’ll get it… pic.twitter.com/GqBRZ2JM6K

The Vikings currently have the No. 11 pick, which will likely be too low to select someone such as J.J. McCarthy of the University of Michigan, who has greatly climbed many draft boards over the last month or two.
They have a trio of very gifted skill players: wide receivers Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison and tight end T.J. Hockenson, and a strong argument could be made that they’d be a playoff team if they just had a reliable QB.
Last season, Cousins was putting up great numbers until a torn Achilles prematurely ended his year in October, and Minnesota went just 7-10.
The question is which team would they trade up with in order to nab a McCarthy or possibly Drake Maye or even Jayden Daniels, two other top QB prospects this year.
The Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Chargers, who have the No. 4 and No. 5 picks, respectively, have been discussed as candidates for the Vikings to trade with in order to get a high enough selection to find their quarterback of the future.
