The San Francisco 49ers have cruised through their first four games in the 2023 NFL season.
They scored at least 30 points in each of those games while limiting their opponents to 23 points or less.
Aside from a dominant defense, Brock Purdy has been solid for the 49ers.
Through Week 4, the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft has 1,019 yards, five touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
Kyle Shanahan has been striking the right balance between the 49ers passing attack and their running scheme led by Christian McCaffrey.
But as impressive as Purdy has been to start the season, NFL analyst Nick Wright still does not believe in the former Iowa State standout.
However, the FS1 host could change his mind if Purdy does something this week.
“His numbers are amazing. I believe the Cowboys defense is going to put him in adverse situations, of which he’s been in none, and I think we are going to see what the real Brock Purdy looks like. If he lights up that Cowboys defense, I’ll be singing a different tune,” Wright said in a recent episode of his What’s Wright? Podcast.
“Everybody wants me to bend the knee to Brock Purdy. I will NOT. I watch the games! … If he lights up that Cowboys defense I’ll be singing another tune.”

Purdy hasn’t lost a regular season game and is 11-1, including playoff games.
But he will face a Cowboys defense ranked second in total yards allowed (259.8) and first in points allowed (10.3) per game this season.
The second-year quarterback must account for the pass rush coming from DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons.
The 49ers have had the Cowboys’ number during the last two postseasons.
Can Purdy play exceptionally well to sustain their dominance against Dallas?
