The Jacksonville Jaguars had a very disappointing end to the season.
They were in control of their destiny in the division, yet Trevor Lawrence’s injuries, some tough luck, and the Houston Texans’ shocking surge cost them the AFC South pennant.
Despite his team’s underwhelming season and after a very long layoff, WR Calvin Ridley had a solid first season in Jacksonville.
Notably, it might also be his last.
At least, that’s how NFL analyst Craig Carton seems to feel about him.
Talking on The Carton Show, the controversial pundit explained that the Jaguars need to move on from him because of the terms of their trade with the Atlanta Falcons.
“Calvin Ridley will be released by the Jaguars. He will be a Kansas City Chief,” Carton said.

Apparently, they would be obliged to send the Falcons a 2024 second-round pick if they resign him, as opposed to a 2024 third-round pick if they let him walk.
The Jaguars might not be interested in giving up such a valuable pick for a veteran wide receiver, as good as he is.
With that in mind, he also predicted that Ridley would join the Kansas City Chiefs, as they need to improve a wide receiver room that had a league-worst 44 drops.
Carton stated that the Chiefs are most definitely going to cut Kadarius Toney after his struggles last season, so they will need to add another serviceable receiver to help Patrick Mahomes.
Ridley was good in his first season with Doug Pederson’s team, hauling in 76 receptions for 1,016 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, and he could instantly become Mahomes’ No. 2 option behind Travis Kelce.
