The Dallas Cowboys were right on track to secure the NFC East and perhaps even the top seed in the NFC.
Unfortunately, back-to-back road losses to the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins have pretty much shut the door on those aspirations.
Even so, that doesn’t mean they can’t finish the season strong and go back to their winning ways.
As a matter of fact, NFL analyst Craig Carton is more than confident in the Cowboys’ ability to bounce back and get another huge scoring performance in their next clash, this time vs. the Detroit Lions.
Talking on “The Carton Show,” Carton showed that he’s not as high on the NFC North champions, predicting they’re in for a wake-up call and a bit of a let-down, which is normal after celebrating their first divisional title in three decades.
“I think the Dallas Cowboys get right back in the win column and put a 40-burger on the Detroit Lions.”

With that in mind, Carton believes the Cowboys are going to go back to being the dominant team they’ve been at home for quite a while and put up 40 points on the Lions.
The Cowboys are the best home team in the league by a significant margin, but they can’t seem to find that same offensive groove away from AT&T Stadium, averaging half as many points as they do at home.
Not playing at home could be a major issue for this team come playoff time, but getting some momentum back after back-to-back tough losses is also a must for Mike McCarthy’s team as we head to the final two weeks of the regular season.
