The San Francisco 49ers-Brandon Aiyuk situation is absolutely fascinating right now.
The franchise’s latest extension offer to the All-Pro wide receiver landed at around $26 million per year.
As of now, Aiyuk has not accepted it.
Two things can come out of these extension negotiations.
He could either be traded, or he will stay a 49er for a long time.
Fox Sports’ Craig Carton believes the latter option will be the case.
“Brandon Aiyuk ain’t going anywhere. He is going to be a Niner,” Carton recently stated on The Carton Show.

With this latest extension offer being a four-year extension, Aiyuk would be slated to make over $100 million, assuming he remains healthy and produces.
Like Carton said, this is not an insulting offer.
It is a quality offer that should sit well with the former Arizona State star.
After all, he isn’t Justin Jefferson or Davante Adams.
He is a star but more of a star role player.
The San Francisco 49ers have a ton of offensive weapons that head coach Kyle Shanahan loves to utilize.
Whether it is the Offensive Player of the Year in running back Christian McCaffrey, All-Pro tight end George Kittle, another All-Pro wide receiver in Deebo Samuel or Aiyuk, they all make Pro Bowl quarterback Brock Purdy look good collectively.
Aiyuk is coming off his best year as a pro (1,342 receiving yards).
He could be a No. 1 wide receiver on most teams, but the 49ers have so many great players that it is hard to say that he is the most important player.
That is why they may not want to break the bank for him.
Regardless, if San Francisco can find the right deal for themselves and the star receiver, both parties win.
