The Pittsburgh Steelers revamped their quarterback room ahead of this season.
They replaced Mason Rudolph, Kenny Pickett, and Mitch Trubisky with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
Needless to say, that’s a major improvement, and it now presents a ‘good’ problem to have, as they have two legitimate potential options behind center.
As of now, it seems like Wilson has the upper hand in the QB1 competition, and while he’ll be hard-pressed to get the job done, he could also get his career back on track.
Whether that’s going to be the case or not, Craig Carton isn’t so sure.
Nonetheless, when asked about the Steelers’ situation, the controversial pundit claimed that he wouldn’t be shocked if the Steelers won their division (via The Carton Show).

Of course, that’s a bit of a bold prediction, as the AFC North Division is one of the most competitive in the game, with all four teams being potential postseason teams, and two legitimate Super Bowl contenders in the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens.
Then again, the Steelers have managed to stay at .500 or better despite their subpar quarterback situation, and they made the playoffs last season with arguably the worst or second-worst QB room in the league.
So, even if Wilson and/or Fields aren’t great, Mike Tomlin has proven that he doesn’t need a great quarterback to get the job done.
If they give the Steelers anything, with their coaching and their defense, this team could be a serious threat to come out of the AFC North.
