More and more NFL prospects are deciding not to partake in the NFL Scouting Combine.
Star WR prospect Marvin Harrison Jr. was the latest to follow this trend, as he decided to skip his voluntary media availability.
Needless to say, some believe this could be a bit of a red flag.
NFL analyst Craig Carton, however, doesn’t see it that way at all.
Talking on The Carton Show, he believes this is going to become the new normal, mostly because the players are starting to realize that they also have a say in things and leverage.
He thinks that Harrison Jr. can only hurt himself by talking at this point, as he’s already a lock to be the first wide receiver taken off the board.
He even went as far as to say that he’s going to be the first non-quarterback taken in the NFL Draft, and he might be right.
“Marvin Harrison Jr. will be the number 1 non-quarterback taken in the NFL Draft,” Carton said.

Marvin Harrison Jr. has already proved himself at the collegiate level, and scouts believe he has the physical tools to be one of the best wide receivers of all time, even ahead of his father.
So, players deciding that they don’t want to be measured or simply don’t want to run dashes or do drills do it because they’ve already secured a spot in the league, and that’s perfectly fine.
Some might think of this kind of empowerment as a red flag or poor character, but it’s actually the opposite; it’s all about players realizing their value and handling themselves like professionals.
