On the first drive of their first game of the 2023 NFL regular season, the New York Jets were handed a devastating blow to their championship hopes this year when quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles.
Most have assumed that Rodgers will not be returning to the field for the Jets this season, but apparently, there are still some New York fans who are holding out hope that he will defy the odds and return in a few weeks.
Among this group of insanely optimistic Jets fans is ESPN’s Mike Greenberg, who believes Rodgers will be back in the lineup for New York in Week 13.
“[The Jets] just gotta be .500 by Week 12 and then Aaron is coming back. Aaron is coming back Week 13.”

If this is truly what Greenberg believes is going to happen, then he’s more than likely going to be hit with a huge letdown when Rodgers doesn’t return to the field by Week 13 of this season.
Achilles injuries typically take anywhere from four to six months to completely heal, and with Rodgers being two months away from turning 40, his body likely isn’t going to heal as quickly as it might have 15 years ago.
So Greenberg should really just face the music and just focus on rooting for the Jets players that are actually healthy enough to play this season.
New York just won their second game of the season this past Sunday when they were able to defeat the Denver Broncos.
The Jets will attempt to improve their record to 3-3 this week when they face the unbeaten Philadelphia Eagles, a team that New York has never been able to defeat in the history of their franchise.
