The Los Angeles Chargers head coaching job will be highly coveted this offseason.
The team has a franchise quarterback in Justin Herbert and talented players on both sides of the ball.
Los Angeles’ poor 2023 season could result in a high draft pick as well.
Chargers’ ownership will undoubtedly cast a wide net for their next head coach, but one intriguing name jumped out immediately for Fox Sports analyst Chris Fallica.
“It would not surprise me at all if Jim Harbaugh was the coach of the Chargers,” Fallica said Friday.

Harbaugh has been the head coach at Michigan, but has a lot of connections to the NFL, the Chargers, and the state of California.
He coached two college teams in California – San Diego and Stanford – as well as one NFL team in the state – the San Francisco 49ers.
Harbaugh also played 14 seasons in the league as quarterback, including his final two seasons with the then-San Diego Chargers.
A West Coast reunion could be intriguing for Harbaugh, too, after he coached the 49ers to three consecutive playoff appearances from 2011-2013 but lost his only Super Bowl appearance.
He also went 44-19-1 in four years in San Francisco.
Harbaugh has been tied to the NFL ever since he returned to college coaching, but this idea could have a bit more substance considering Harbaugh had been suspended by the NCAA this season for alleged sign-stealing this season and it’s unclear if he’ll see any more punishments from the NCAA in 2024.
It would take the perfect job and good timing to pry Harbaugh from Michigan – and the Chargers just might be it.
