When it comes to sports, fans always want to know who the best player is on the field.
They were given an opportunity to listen to that Thursday morning ahead of the draft as NFL analyst Greg Cosell hopped on the Ross Tucker Podcast to chat about some of the most intriguing and best NFL Draft prospects that will be joining the NFL fraternity in a matter of hours.
He had this to say about Texas defensive tackle Byron Murphy II:
“Yeah, I loved Byron Murphy’s tape…I think he’s the best interior player in this draft. He is a freaky athlete for that size,” Cosell said.

Anyone who stands over six feet and weighs close to or over 300 pounds that can run a 40-yard dash in under 4.9 seconds is a freak.
That is what Murphy is.
While at Texas, he became one of the best overall players in the country.
The DeSoto, Texas native was the 2023 Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year after recording 5.0 sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss, and nearly 30 total tackles.
He can clog up running lanes and has the ability to push blockers back into the face of the quarterback.
The fact that he played in all 14 games for Texas a year ago is really good news for him and the team that wants him.
The trenches are super physical, and playing a full season is nothing short of impressive.
Look for Murphy to go in the top 15 or 20 on Thursday night.
He is a truly legit athlete that can affect the game in a number of ways.
