The Kansas City Chiefs have won five straight games after dropping their season opener vs. the Detroit Lions.
However, as good as their record is, they haven’t been the same dominant force they used to be, especially when compared to other teams.
That’s why Craig Carton believes the Chiefs have failed Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, adding that they should rush to trade for another weapon immediately.
Talking with David Jacoby and Willie Colon, Carton explained that the Chiefs have won all of those games thanks to Kelce and Mahomes, adding that they’re good enough to make it to the AFC Championship Game, but not a Super Bowl.
“The Kansas City Chiefs right now will not win the Super Bowl if they keep playing the way they are.”

Jacoby added that the Chiefs are winning, but not in the same dominant fashion that the San Francisco 49ers are doing it, stating that they’re coming off some close games.
Notably, this is the first time that the Chiefs actually have an elite defense since Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid have been working together.
Most of the time, the offense had to bail the defense out, and it’s the other way around now.
Just imagine what this team would be capable of if they got another reliable weapon.
Mahomes and Kelce can will a team to a win every now and then; they’ve done it five weeks in a row now.
But that’s not sustainable throughout the course of an entire regular season and playoffs, and they’ll have to be quite active in the trade market to get at least another star.
