The modern NFL game has opened up the door for tight ends to be more of a factor in the passing game.
Back in the day, just a couple of players, such as Shannon Sharpe, Tony Gonzalez, or Antonio Gates were legitimate pass-catching threats at the position, with most of their colleagues being out there to block.
Now, we’ve seen guys like Rob Gronkowski and, more recently, George Kittle or Travis Kelce making a name for themselves as pass-catchers.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see so many teams gushing about Georgia star TE Brock Bowers.
Notably, that includes NFL analyst Greg Cosell.
In the latest edition of the Ross Tucker Podcast, Cosell claimed that Bowers is one of the most polished offensive weapons we’ve seen in years, and he’s definitely going to be more of a weapon than any traditional tight end.
“He’s more of an offensive weapon than a traditional TE,” Cosell said.

He stated that there’s not much he can’t do as a route-runner or pass-catcher, adding that he’s gotten better and has put more effort into becoming a better blocker as well.
Some experts claimed that Bowers could’ve been NFL-ready last season, but eligibility rules obviously prevented him from declaring for the NFL Draft.
He’s now expected to go No. 10 to the New York Jets.
The prospect of having a physical specimen like him running routes for Aaron Rodgers is mouth-watering for Jets fans.
And while he hasn’t even suited up yet, some believe he can end up being one of the greatest to ever do it.
