Corey Davis surprisingly retired prior to last season at just 28 years old, but after just a year away from the game he appears to be working toward a return after applying for reinstatement.
The six-year veteran recently turned 29 and after a year away will certainly have some teams interested in a sure-handed wideout with some fresh legs.
Rich Cimini of ESPN reported, via Paul Andrew Esden Jr. on Twitter, that a return to the Jets is unlikely and that “the sense is that he will explore the market and prefers a team closer to his home in Nashville, Tennessee.”
For those out there hoping for a Corey Davis #Jets reunion, it’s not looking good…

Davis last played in 2022 for the Jets when he posted a disappointing 32 catches for 536 yards and two touchdowns in the second year of a three-year, $37.5 million contract.
Davis was drafted by the Titans with the fifth overall pick in 2017 and never quite put up the numbers you’d expect of a receiver drafted that high.
His best season came in his contract year in 2020 after Ryan Tannehill took over at quarterback for Tennessee, where in 14 games Davis put up career-highs across the board with 65 receptions for 984 yards and five touchdowns.
If Davis is looking for teams close to home, a return to the Titans could be on the table, as his former team still has tens of millions in cap space and could be in the market for another depth option at receiver even after signing Calvin Ridley.
Geographically, the Ravens, Commanders, and Panthers could all potentially be in the market for a receiver as well and would be some of the closest destinations to Tennessee.
