Despite all the doubts, frustration, lack of offensive firepower, and the narratives surrounding them, the Kansas City Chiefs are back in the AFC Championship Game.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs seem inevitable, even when they’re far from their best.
That’s why Mahomes has set the bar and the standard to determine just how good a quarterback is; he’s pretty much the point of comparison.
At least, that’s how NFL analyst Emmanuel Acho seems to feel about him.
Talking on FS1’s Speak, Acho stated that Patrick Mahomes is the sun in the NFL’s solar system, so you can determine how good another quarterback is by his proximity to Mahomes.
“If Lamar Jackson beats Patrick Mahomes, he will be the 2nd best QB in the NFL,”Acho said.

He claims that Joe Burrow is the second-best quarterback in the league because he beat Mahomes in the playoffs, with Josh Allen being the third-best because he almost beat him.
With that in mind, he believes that Lamar Jackson would leapfrog Burrow to become the second-best QB in the league if he beats Mahomes in the AFC Championship Game, stating that people don’t know where to rank him right now because they haven’t squared off in the playoffs.
That’s an interesting theory, but it actually makes sense.
Perhaps the analogy of Mahomes being the brightest star in the solar system is a bit of a stretch, but we get the point.
Now, it’ll be up to Jackson to show what he’s truly made of.
