One of the top safeties that was taken in the 2024 NFL Draft was Utah’s Cole Bishop.
Bishop was selected by the Buffalo Bills at pick No. 60 in the second round.
NFL analyst Greg Cosell recently appeared on the “Ross Tucker Podcast” to talk about how good of a selection it was.
“I thought he was one of the best safety prospects in the class…I thought he could play backend. I thought he could play in the box…It didn’t surprise me that the Bills drafted him,” Cosell said.
Cole Bishop sounds like a PERFECT fit at safety for the Bills.

The Bills made some really big decisions this offseason by letting go of both of their All-Pro safeties in Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde.
They clearly had a big need at that position.
To get the All-Pac-12 performer in Bishop was a great call by GM Brandon Beane.
In his college career, he had nearly 200 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, and 12 pass breakups.
He started 29 games and proved to be a very valuable piece on one of the best defenses in the country.
Now, he will head to a Buffalo defense that is rebuilding on the backend.
Again, they cut ties with both Hyde and Poyer.
They also released former Pro Bowl cornerback Tre’Davious White.
It is a new era in the defensive backs room for Beane and head coach Sean McDermott.
That new era will start with the rookie in Cole Bishop.
With veterans Von Miller, Ed Oliver, Matt Milano, Rasul Douglas, and Greg Rousseau all still in the fold, this Bills defense should still be very good in 2024.
