The Denver Broncos informed Russell Wilson that they will no longer require his services.
They’re going to take the largest dead cap hit in NFL history ($85 million) over the next two years just to get rid of him.
This wasn’t surprising, as he had already been benched late last season, even though he had led the team to a point in which they could still possibly make the playoffs.
Also, coach Sean Payton seemed to have some rough moments with Wilson on the sidelines.
That’s why NFL analyst Craig Carton didn’t mince his words against the former New Orleans Saints coach.
Talking on The Carton Show, Carton called him ‘an egomaniac,’ criticizing him for the Russell Wilson situation.
“Sean Payton’s an egomaniac,” Carton said.

Carton called out Payton for embarrassing and humiliating Wilson at every single chance he had.
However, he thinks that the worst part about this whole situation is that the Broncos don’t even seem to have a plan, as they won’t pursue any veteran quarterback and don’t have a valuable first-round pick to get a franchise quarterback in the NFL Draft.
Things don’t look good for this team, especially compared to the rest of the division, and all eyes will now be on Sean Payton and the decisions he makes.
