The Philadelphia Eagles entered Monday Night Football as slight favorites over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
This surprised some fans across the league, especially considering the Eagles’ lackluster finish to the regular season.
While it seemed like a close game in the first half, the Buccaneers started hot in the second half and never looked back.
In a recent segment of his show, Craig Carton chalked the Eagles’ poor performance to a negative mentality on their part.
He said, “That’s a team that’s given up; that’s a team that’s totally quit.”
“That’s a team that’s given up, that’s a team that’s totally quit. There is no want-to there. I think they’d be thrilled if Nick Sirianni and Matt Patricia and the rest of that coaching staff is kicked to the curb and a new regime comes in.”

He believes that while the Eagles finished the regular season with an 11-6 record, they ultimately ran out of gas when they needed it most.
Carton also indicated that the front office should take a good, hard look at the coaching staff and potentially make a few changes.
“I think they’d be thrilled if Nick Sirianni and Matt Patricia and the rest of that coaching staff is kicked to the curb and a new regime comes in,” Carton said.
He believes that a complete overhaul is just what this team needs and that the Eagles could find better success in 2024 with new coaches.
Of course, it could be tough to get rid of Sirianni, especially since he has been so beloved by the players on his team, along with the city of Philadelphia.
Regardless of how Sirianni has been perceived throughout his career, winning is typically the only thing that matters in the NFL.
They could look elsewhere if the front office doesn’t believe he gives them the best chance to win.
