Football fans across the nation are looking forward to four intriguing matchups this weekend in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, but the matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills stands out as one of the most interesting.
It will pit two of the game’s marquee quarterbacks in Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen against each other, and it is a rematch of that epic divisional round battle between these two teams that took place two years ago.
While the Bills have a six-game winning streak and are arguably the hottest team in the league right now, there is still plenty of pressure on them, and Nick Wright said in Fox Sports 1’s “First Things First” that a loss on Sunday could be very costly for the Bills.
“It would mean this mini era of Bills football in it’s current iteration is over and it failed. They will have to make some major change,” Wright said.
What would a loss to the Chiefs say about Josh Allen?

Wright seemed to imply that if the Bills don’t get the job done, they may break up their current core.
While a head coaching change could occur in that case — Sean McDermott has been rumored to be on the hot seat if things don’t work out — it’s hard to imagine Buffalo’s key players going anywhere.
Allen is 27 and should have several good years left in him, and the same seems to be true for star wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who recently turned 30 years of age.
The Bills have had some key injuries on defense, but after looking dead in the water for much of the season, they managed to get hot down the stretch.
If they do lose to the Chiefs, perhaps they could point to that as evidence that they aren’t far away from reaching or winning the Super Bowl.
