After a slow start to the 2023 NFL season, the Cleveland Browns made a miraculous run to the postseason.
Despite dealing with injuries to some of their top players, the Browns rallied together to help make this run possible.
Joe Flacco is often credited with the team’s Cinderella-esque run, but other players also made a monumental impact.
Brian Baldinger recently spoke with Tom Pelissero about linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, outlining his importance to this team.
“The speed of decision-making, he makes this defense elite. And I think it’s time we start giving this guy a lot of credit because he had his best season,” Baldinger said.
.@Browns @j_owuu only getting better in Schwartzy’s system. How many lbers finish with 20 TFL? Speed of decision making is crazy #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/7Pl37uojUv

Pelissero and Baldinger also highlighted the fact that Owusu-Koramoah not only led the team in tackles, but he was the only player in the league to amass over 95 tackles and over 20 tackles for loss.
A tackle for loss (TFL) is a stat mostly awarded to edge rushers, as they are often running in to stop the run game or bring down the quarterback behind the line of scrimmage.
For Owusu-Koramoah to be elite in this category is a great sign for the Browns, as it is an indication of how much of an impact he has on this defense.
If he can keep up that level of production into the 2024 season, the Browns should be able to build on this success.
They were a playoff team last year, but if they can keep putting things together, they have a legitimate shot of being a contender if everything falls into place.
