The NFL has officially turned it’s back on Bill Belichick.
His downfall wasn’t pretty to watch, and the fact that he had his fingerprints all over the New England Patriots debacle may have made teams think twice before showing an interest in his services.
Nonetheless, most analysts believe we haven’t seen the last of Belichick yet, and the legendary coach could be back in the league if things go south this season for some teams.
Given that situation, NFL analyst Craig Carton stated that he wouldn’t be shocked to see him become the next coach for the Miami Dolphins.
Talking on The Carton Show, he stated that if Mike McDaniel fails to win a playoff game, the Dolphins’ ownership could make a drastic decision, as it’s been quite a while since the organization last had a win in the postseason.
“Don’t sleep on Miami,” Carton said.
“Don’t sleep on Miami.”

Belichick knows the division like the back of his hand, so it would make sense.
It was kind of surprising to see that he didn’t get any coaching job this offseason, as his résumé speaks for itself, even if his record without Tom Brady is rather mediocre.
As for the Dolphins, everybody seems to be quite high on coach McDaniel, but this is a results-oriented business for most franchises, so another early end to the campaign could put an end to his tenure in South Beach.
