Aaron Rodgers’ short time with the Jets has been full of a lot of off-field drama and not any on-field success.
Rodgers and the Jets hyped up the 2023 offseason after he was acquired in a trade from the Green Bay Packers, but all that’s come out of it were a lot of viral video clips after he tore his Achilles in Week 1.
The spotlight on Rodgers got a bit brighter this past week after his verbal sparring with ABC television host Jimmy Kimmel, and ESPN’s Dan Graziano said that moment is just an encapsulation of his reputation around the NFL.
“Con artists can be very convincing. And I think if he’s got the Jets fooled about who he is then that’s too bad for them and eventually they’ll pay the price for it,” Graziano said. “He’s obviously a liar and a narcissistic con artist who’s bad for everything he touches and I think ultimately the Jets will pay the price.”

This is quite the scathing remarks about a four-time MVP and one-time Super Bowl champion, but Graziano wouldn’t be saying it if there wasn’t some truth to it from what he’s heard.
Rodgers spent the entire season claiming he could return from his Achilles injury faster than anyone and in time for a Jets playoff run.
When the Jets failed to make the playoffs, Rodgers noted he likely wouldn’t have been ready anyway.
Now, the Jets just have to hope he can be ready for 2024 and that his off-field comments won’t continue to be a distraction for him and the team.
