The Chicago Bears haven’t been able to move on from Justin Fields.
The former first-round pick has reportedly gauged little-to-no trade interest around the league.
As of now, it seems like they will either have to give him up at a massive discount, keep him as a backup, or trade the No. 1 pick for a big haul of assets and hope that Fields figures things out with a new and improved supporting cast.
A trade seems like the most realistic scenario, which is why Jon Greenberg of The Athletic believes the New York Jets should pick up the phone.
“Fields to the Jets makes more sense than Rodgers to the White House,” he wrote.
When the news broke that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was considering Aaron Rodgers as his VP, two things popped into @jon_greenberg‘s mind.
How would this affect the key race in Wisconsin?

In his column, he argued that the Jets could send a late-round pick in 2024 or a better pick in 2025 to get the Ohio State product as an insurance policy:
That’s in wake of the Aaron Rodgers news.
Rodgers is reportedly on Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s shortlist to be his running mate in the election, which would obviously drive him away from the football field.
Justin Fields has always been a polarizing prospect, but the talent is evident, so he could be worth the risk.
The Jets have already improved their QB room by signing Tyrod Taylor as Rodgers’ backup, but Fields would be a bigger upgrade, not to mention someone they could build around in the future, as Rodgers might not be there for much longer.
