The New England Patriots will need to revamp their roster this offseason if they want to get back to competing in the AFC.
New head coach Jerod Mayo has a monumental task ahead of him, though the team should be able to give him new weapons with the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft less than a month away.
Currently, the Patriots own the No. 3 overall pick and are projected to take one of the highly-touted quarterback prospects in this year’s class, though they could also trade down and pick up more draft compensation.
With USC’s Caleb Williams a lock to go to the Chicago Bears at No. 1, New England could be looking at either LSU’s Jayden Daniels or UNC’s Drake Maye as their next franchise signal-caller.
Either option would be a huge boost to the quarterback room and give fans hope that this rebuilding effort will be worth it.
Regardless of who the new starting quarterback is, Mike Kadlick advocated for the team to bring in an experienced wide receiver to help them at the professional level, via Patriots on CLNS Media.
“It should push them even more to go get that … security blanket target for your rookie QB. Everybody’s doing it now,” Kadlick said.

Getting a quarterback a true No. 1 receiver goes a long way in ensuring that the offense stays on schedule.
There have been numerous instances of young quarterbacks struggling to find their way, though sometimes that can be attributed to a lack of weapons.
New England’s receiver room needs an infusion of talent and it’ll be interesting to see if they address it via trade, free agency, or the draft.
