The New York Giants still have a decision to make about Saquon Barkley.
Some believe they’re going to place him under the franchise tag again, which is far from what he aspires to be the case.
Their relationship isn’t in a great place right now, so perhaps he could refuse to play under the tag and just threaten to hold out.
The Giants could also let him walk away in free agency, as it doesn’t seem likely that they’ll give him a long-term deal.
Considering that, former NFL star Bart Scott claimed the Houston Texans should make a run at him.
Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, he stated that the Texans could have the luxury of paying over market value for a running back because they have a quarterback on a rookie contract.
“I think Saquon to Houston is a slam dunk,” Scott said.

He said that context matters, and adding a proven veteran like Barkley to that environment could do wonders for both parties.
Also, Stroud found plenty of success behind a subpar offensive line, so adding a difference-maker and a legitimate tackle-breaker at the RB position could only help him even more.
Of course, signing Saquon Barkley will always come with some serious injury concerns, as he has rarely been able to stay healthy throughout the course of an entire season.
Nonetheless, he’s been one of the most impactful running backs in the game when available, and it’s not like he would be required to do as much heavy lifting in Houston as he’s done since he arrived in the Big Apple.
